Who were these soccer "experts" that claimed FC Barcelona's demise was immanent? Where are their paychecks and may I please have them so I can forward them to Messi's hometown?
We have never seen a soccer game quite so glorious as what happened yesterday at Camp Nou in Catalonia. Messi notched his 17th straight game with a goal and tied Ruud van Nistleroy for second most goals ever in career Champions League play with 60 (Raul still holds first place with 71.) It was en route to Barcelona becoming the first team to come back from a two-goal away-leg deficit in Champions League history, and a trip to a sixth straight Champions League semifinal matchup for the Catalonians.
The entire matched was riveting, but Messi's first goal which came in the 5th minute will probably go down as a top five goal of his career -- perhaps the greatest goal of all time. I feel sorry for anyone who didn't see it rail the upper 90 from the 18 live.
Messi: a serious candidate for Bro of the Year.
