M & M NFL Picks Week 11 - Thursday Edition

By Marley Burr (@MarleyBurr), Mitch Sandberg, & Eric Witters

Welcome back to another week of M & Ms NFL picks. Things have been a little crazy lately but were back to everything being on track. The last couple weeks have been huge for betters as in week 9 it was an extreme rarity of a payout as almost all the favorites won. Vegas took a huge hit week 9 in payouts and there multiple winners on betting sites worldwide as many won their parlays including yours truly. Of course because the betting gods can only be so cruel, the next week was followed with the only undefeated team losing to the Saints and thus raking in millions for betting sites and Las Vegas. What goes around comes around I guess. This weeks guest is a friend of Mitch, Eric Witters. Eric is also West Coast based and maybe he can do better than his buddy and keep the strong picks of the GOTW going. Lets get started.

This Week Features two players of the week. Adrian Peterson gets the first bid with 171 yards and a touchdown against the Lions. This is the fourth straight week Peterson has 20+ fantasy points and he is the leagues leading rusher. What makes this so impressive is that he coming back this season after a major knee surgery and everyone counted him off. It is pretty unfathomable to see a running back having this kind of career year after a surgery like that.
The other Player of the Week is Joe Flacco. Flacco and the Ravens dropped 50 right on Oaklands face and my lord was he dominant. Flacco passed for 341 yards and had 3 touchdowns this Sunday again showing that when the Ravens are firing all cannons they are just a nightmare matchup.

Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills

Marley: Dolphins +1
Mitch: Buffalo -1
Eric: Buffalo -1

Marley: This division match-up pretty much sums up why the Patriots manage to make it to the playoffs every year. Sadly someone has to win this division and sometimes your just going to get a game like this. We have a wonderful matchup between the Bills (who manage to blow any game they might have a chance of winning) and the Dolphins (Who are so up and down its impossible to predict their behavior. Ill bet the NFL network executives are kicking themselves for this one, two really bad teams that nobody cares about in primetime.

The Dolphins lay a stinker against the Titans losing 37 -3. Now they need to go to Buffalo and take a win away from a division rival if they want to keep any playoff hopes alive

The Dolphins laid a huge egg against the Titans. Jake Locker and the Titans defense picked this team apart and shut them down hard. This team had just come off a blowout of the Jets and a close loss to the Colts. Then a 37 -3 loss? Really? Who is this team exactly? At least with the Bills I know what im going to get, a big fat L. Doesn’t matter if it’s a blowout, doesn’t matter how close they are to winning, the Bills will find a way to blow it. Its actually pretty impressive.

This pick in the End-Zone sealed the deal for the Patriots comeback. The Bills had this victory in hand for the majority of the game but eventually fell to the Patriots. This one will likely hurt for a while. Especially if they lose to another division rival this week.

This game is probably be a close one….or a blowout….or a touchdown…honestly nobody knows and this is impossible to guess. I think that on paper the Dolphins are the better team plain and simple. They have a better offense, they have a better defense and they have a better special teams. It’s a division rivalry and that means anything can happen but if im going to straight up pick someone to win this game which is what a 1 point spread is basically doing, I would give it to the Dolphins who still have a shot at playoffs and are the better team. Plus like I said, the Bills will find a way to lose.
