Bro of the Week: Kenny Guiton

By Adam Maher (@ArtoMar1)

Ohio State backup quarterback Kenny Guiton is currently living the dream. Yesterday, his leader and starting QB, Braxton Miller, went down in the third quarter in a tight game against Purdue with a rib injury, and Guiton, a red-shirt junior, who according to ESPN reports was almost kicked off the team by Urban Meyer earlier this season, took over to lead Ohio State to a come-from-behind win in overtime to stay undefeated (8-0, 4-0). The post-game, on-field scene at Ohio Stadium was something special, as Head Coach Urban Meyer and the entire stadium celebrated the team's triumph with Purdue punches. But no one enjoyed the celebration more than Guiton, who before yesterday's heroics had only thrown the ball 23 times in his entire two-year Ohio State career (not including his red-shirt season).

Bro of the Day is all about stepping up and being a bro for your broz when they need you most. Yesterday Kenny Guiton did just that. Most likely, his starter, Braxton, will return before the year's end, but thanks to Guiton and his two TDs and 128 yards on just nine attempts, including a two-point conversion and an OT drive, Ohio State still hopes to finish this year undefeated for the first time since they won the National Championship in 2002 under Jim Tressel (14-0, 8-0) at the Fiesta Bowl.

And Godspeed to Kenny and all the Kenny G references he gets this week!

  1. Pretty sure Ohio State isn't bowl eligible this year... No national championship now matter what.

  2. Ahh right you are. I made the correction, which adds to the awesomeness of the win. Thanks, my anonymous bro.
