Bro of the Day: Eddie Johnson

By Adam Maher (@ArtoMar1)

Eddie Johnson used his head twice to help the U.S. Men's National team get one step closer to qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. It was Eddie's first game for the USMNT since 2010, and his two goals make possible a World Cup berth for the US with a win three days from now, on Oct. 16 in Kansas City against Guatemala. Neither goal was one that will be remembered -- I'm sure Ronaldinho won't hear about it -- but as always, the USMNT needs every win it can get. And Eddie Johnson's 90th minute game-winner is a symbol once again of how much character this team has, not to mention the fact that the World Cup is only two years away...

The conditions were anything but key and sunny last night in Antigua. You remember those games that you didn't want to play in when you were a kid. Yeah, it was that bad. So kudos to Eddie for grinding this game out, and pushing the Americans that crucial step closer to qualifying for Brazil 2014.
