With his win at the PGA Championship Sunday evening, Rory McIlroy became the first player since Tiger Woods in 2000 to win two majors before turning 24 years old. Just as impressive, Rory won by 8 strokes, which was the largest margin of victory at a PGA Championship since Jack Nicklaus in 1980 - eight years before the World's new Number 1 ranked golfer was born.

This is a special Bro of the Day. Five months ago, I wrote that Rory would win the PGA Championship and end the Major golf season as the World's Number 1 ranked golfer. After a few shaky weeks - missing the cut at Augusta, missing the cut at the US Open, which he was defending champion, tying for 60th place at the British Open - Rory accrued a few haters to say the least. And why not? He was playing horribly. He admitted several times that he needed to dedicate more time to his game if he wanted to reach greatness. Even I began to doubt my prediction - my golf writing reputation was on the line!

And then McIlroy, at the last, justified my golf writing ambitions once again, completing the ultimate Pro-to-Bro connection for a 100 yard, out-of-the-park, perfect drive swish Bro-of-the-Day post.

What's more is that FINALLY Luke Donald has been relieved of his duty of maintaining the awkward position of World Number 1 by default of every other playing sucking. Tiger Woods still holds the Fedex Cup Number 1 ranking, but Rory is right behind him at Number 2. Only Bo Van Pelt (8) has more top ten finishes this year than Rory (7) - Tiger has 6.
