Bro of the Day: Clint Dempsey

Today's Bro of the Day goes to Clint Dempsey, whose goal in the 55th minute was enough to give USA their first win over the Italians in 78 years. Jozy Altidore's layoff was all Dempsey needed to bury the ball into the back of the net, moving himself up to 4th place on USA all-time scoring list, and becoming only the fourth American to score a goal against Italy.

The win was much needed for the Americans after starting off on a shaky start with head coach Jurgen Klinsmann, who was thrilled about the win.

"It's historic for us beating a team of Italy's level. If you beat Italy on their own soil then that means a lot. ... Obviously as a coach you're pleased because you see them progressing, you see young players stepping up and playing against these amazing, experienced Italian players who have won the World Cup and played big tournaments year in and year out. Obviously it was a big step for us." via ESPN

Congratulations to USA for winning their 4th straight, and to Clint Demspey for earning his first Bro of the Day.

USA Soccer is on the come up, thanks to a Clint Dempsey smash in the 55th minute.

Honorable Mentions:

Arjen Robben might have gotten robbed out of today's Bro of the Day. He had a beastly game scoring two goals two crush the hearts of England's fans at Wembley Stadium. Down two in the 85' Gary Cahill finished a goal to give England some hope in the late stages of the game. That goal sparked some energy into the English who answered again with a beautiful Ashley Young goal in the 90th to square-it-up. Just when the fans thought they were walking out with a tie, Arjen Robben did the unthinkable and buried one with the clock expiring.

Lionel Messi went to work yet again scoring his first career international hat-trick for Argentina in a 3-1 win over the Swiss.

Lionel Messi no stressi against the Swissi yesterdissi.
