Tennessee Titan and Bayonne native Kenny Britt's date in Hoboken Municipal Court was postponed. Britt was scheduled to be in Hoboken Municipal Court today at 10 a.m., but his case was adjourned, court officials say.
He will be back in court on Dec. 27. His attorney Alan Silber said Britt is currently recuperating from an injury he suffered earlier this season and will soon undergo ACL surgery.
Britt faces charges that were downgraded to disorderly persons offenses in relation to an incident at a Hoboken car wash in June when two plainclothes Hoboken police officers smelled raw marijuana coming from Britt's car.
They arrested Britt after a struggle after the cops saw what appeared to be a cigar filled with marijuana - called a blunt - in his hand. Police said Britt crushed the blunt in his hand when police tried to take it from him. They also believe someone picked up and destroyed the evidence while they struggled with Britt, reports said. Britt's most recent court date was Sept. 20.
While the Bayonne native did not show up, his attorney Alan Silber came to represent him
