Broz of the Day: Indiana University's 2011-12 Lacrosse Team Captain Broz

BLOOMINGTON, In. – Indiana head coach Peter Tumbas announced that attackman Matt Anderson, attackman James Maher, defender Jeffery Redish, and goalie Peter Moore have been selected as team captains for the 2012 campaign.

“I am pleased to announce our captains for the 2011-2012 season,” said Head Coach Peter Tumbas. “I believe captains come in all shapes and sizes and this group certainly proves that theory. You don’t have to be the best player or the loudest or the most popular on the team to be an effective leader. Matt, James, Jeffery, and Peter have shown that they’re playing with a sense of urgency this fall and coaches want this largely sophomore and freshmen roster to follow their lead.”

James Maher, a senior from Montclair, New Jersey, is a steadying cog of the young offense - meaning he has been murdering the game for the past few seasons. Maher scored 10 goals and 14 assists last season in limited action (similar to Jose Reyes winning the batting title this year despite missing games), and the coaching staff hopes to God he can return to his 2010 form when he contributed 10 goals and 25 assists.
