Craig Kimbrel...still KTG

Atlanta Braves rookie closer Craig Kimbrel should be considered for not only Rookie of the year, but Cy Young and MVP talks as well.   With no clear cut winner for either, Kimbrel continues to KTG this season as he picked up his Major-League-leading 38th save last night against the 1st place D-Backs.    That total is the second highest by a rookie pitcher since 1969.

This rook ain't shook

Kimbrel was listed on this blog as the #1 up and coming bro to look out for this season a few months back and has lived up to the hype. My dude has not allowed an earned run since June 11th with 19 saves in that time span, and over 29 innings of scoreless work.

Keep it up Bro!

The Braves lead the NL Wild Card, and Craig's ability to shut down opposing batters late in games is a big reason why.  For the season, he has an astounding era at 1.75 and an even better whip at 0.99.   The 23 year olds salary is just over 400,000; look for that number to increase if he continues this dominance late in September and into the postseason.
